on friday we put addresses and stamps on the invitations for the preview party. many great people are being invited. on great person is yoko ono. i made sure to personalize her invitation with a drawing of a weird flower and a note to let her know that we "received her cds in the mail." my idea was that if i drew something that really hit home, she would show up out of curiosity. for example, if i drew, say, a dolphin, and she really liked dolphins, it would "hit home." it's like if i drew a picture of a blanket on devon's invitation, she would immediately think "niney" and would come to the party. so, for some reason, i came up with a weird flower.

oh yes, a former zingmagazine worker, sari (sp.?) had an opening that we were going to go to. devon bought her some sidewalk chalk in the shapes of sea life. an octopus, a mermaid with boobs, a lobster or something, and an eel-like creature with horse teeth. so she had us sign the note. devon wrote her name and a heart around it. because of this, i felt compelled to add a logo to my name, so i wrote my name and drew an arrow going right above it an an arrow going left underneath it. following this trend, anna drew a little curvy line with two upright lines going through it under hers, leah drew an anime face, and stecketee (sp.?), who joined us for a meeting at the zingmagazine remote office (the bar), wrote his signature, but she wouldn't be able to read it, so wouldn't knwo who signed it. danny wrote "you are the best danny" or something so you couldn't really tell if "you" were "the best" or danny was "the best." sneaky sneaky. later, devon yelled at ze germans.
