Fourth Week Pantsplitting

* okay y'alls, maybe not a total pantsplitter, but ive been feeling like a jerk because my zipper fly is always falling down and im getting nasty looks from the ladies...and hot leers from the gents!

*a cohort and i were beating the mailing pile into submission, getting ready to send out our little zing's across the globe. thank heavens for sticker stamps, i cannot imagine the hallucinations that would have been induced by the endless licking of stamp adhesive....hmm...then again...

*inferno! zing had a two minute fire drill today because the building next store was actually freaking ablaze. wait.....! hot new term, take a note webster...CRAZE ABLAZE! it was cool though cause i brought my croissant and coffee, so i was set in case things went sour quick. luckily thanks to our boys in black (and fluoro yellow) the conflagration was quickly taken care of, and all is well at grand & wooster again.

*today in history: russian people embrace the mcfatty ideal
the first mcdonalds in the then soviet union opened today, 18 years ago, in moscow. 30,000 people got their cabbage pie on (ummm...?), discovered something called customer service, and a big pile of processed crap called a beeg mak. delicious!

*zing office of continuing education - monday i started norwegian class, or norsk! wish me luck. heres a lil sample, JEG HETER ANONYMOUS INTERN. any guesses?

aujourd'hui::::::

I am an envelope labeling-packing machine.
Efficiency is a game.
And I have won.
Rock on.

Also, I would like to publicly declare my love to all those people out there who respond to emails I've sent them within an hour after I've sent them.
Mad love.

The Dubai Art Fair is now on my things-to-go-to-or-do-before-I'm-old-and-senile list.

Really n-n-n-nifty: clickyclicky

My favorite pastime: searching the internet for images I'm drawn to for no particular reason.

New discovery: I am a fish. I am drawn to colorful shiny objects.

Also, I have a new obsession with benches.
Don't ask me why.

See? Awesomeness.

Third Week Jollification

* dreaming of snuggling down on the beach at dockweiler state park and waving to passengers as they flew west from lax...

*i have almost conquered the scrooge poop pile of returned holiday cards...but what that really means is that people are impossible to find. its been frustrating, but exciting when people actually have updated their contact info. 7 WHOA

*emailed some european printers to inquire about their hotness services

* TRIUMPH OF THE WEEK 8 Organized the stock closet to its true state of perfection

* NOTE TO OTHER 'TERNS 8 A to the left, B is center, C and Hard Cover aka HC to the right

* Project Corner with Jiminy Zing *

This week I have been researching colored smoke bombs to use in a shoot. I dont know....its already so hot in principle Im not really sure how much
hotter it could get. Ill just have to be careful to make sure the space is well ventilated so the model and i dont get in a canary/coal mine situation

First day: a very lovely L-KDbD (a low-key database day, naturally). I contacted various magazines to compile a list of art-writers (which I have discovered to be a very broad category).

I love the comfortable atmosphere here (complete with country music and infomercials in the background on the TV). Just like home :)

Second Week ExtravaFUNza

*i often peruse flickr for inspiration, and this week was no different.

*inspired by the 'dark' nature of oslo, i found what i was looking for to translate a vague notion of disorientation brought on by the intersection of technology and modernity. not sure why, but im definitely feeling like that lately. the thread in these images (besides the awesomeosity) is their location: grünerløkka, oslo. GEO QUIZ!!! this country has the second highest quality of life and the capital is oslo...any guesses kids? (hint: even the ugly people are hot.)

*ill begrudgingly admit that i have been getting re-acquainted with the fussy streets of SoHo. As opposed to before when i would walk in this nabe on autopilot, im slowly becoming aware of all the nooks and crannies in this english muffin of a hood.

*ive been talking to strangers on the phone all day, the database ran away, small town new jersey police have nothing to do, and emails galore await me in my intern throne.

*tip of the day goes to: people who work at glorified tshirt purveyors TIP: the retail concept of poor treatment = exclusivity and therefore 'coolness' is a little 2003... now youre just annoying.

First Week Extravaganza!

hey y'alls...new intern on the prowl

some fun things this week

*i showed the printers whos boss
*i spread the new years cheer with some gifts for those in the zing homelands
*its official, the 'real' housewives are the official high sign of the endtimes

some hotness ive been lovin

*lars tunbjörk's book, 'vinter'
* fresh swedish absurdity from one of my favorite photographers, tunbjörk says, "I often feel beside myself in the winter time, and I try to go to warmer and lighter places. But the last couple of years I have travelled into the winter and darkness instead. Into areas, conditions and encounters in which I don’t really know where the outer and inner begins. And even less where it ends." personally, i love tunbjörk's work particularly because it turns the popular perception of swedish and scandinavian culture on its head. check it!
